So, let’s go back in 1988, when Bill Gates announced an office suite of applications, servers, and services developed by Microsoft i.e. Microsoft Office.
It was initially released in 1990, which consists of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Through the years, the office applications have updated with new features like a common spell checker, OLE data integration and Visual Basic for Applications scripting language.
- As of 2017, the current desktop version is Office 2016 for Windows and MacOS.

- Its operating system is Microsoft Windows and is available in 102 languages.

It was initially released on October 1983, as Multi-Tool Word for Xenix systems. It’s subsequent version for Microsoft Windows launched in 1989. The first version was developed by Charles Simonyi and Richard Brodie, hired by Bill Gates and Paul Allen.
