Today we are sharing tricks which will help you to do multiplication calculations (Simplification) in faster and easier way. We will also discuss some special cases of multiplication in Simplification.

Before discussing the Simplification tricks, we suggest you to remember the tables up to 30 as it will help you to do calculations in faster way.

Now, let’s start the topic with:

__MULTIPLICATION BY 2 DIGIT NUMBERS__

We all know how to multiply with 2 Digit number according to Traditional method and we all know it becomes too time consuming sometimes. So here is the Vedic method to solve such problems in Simplification.

__Example__ **86 × 32 = ? **

**As we can see, Traditional method is so messy and time consuming. So let’s try the same example with faster method**

__Faster method__

__STEP 1__

**In first step, we will multiply the right hand side digits.**

__STEP 2__

**In second step, we will cross multiply the digits and add them. We will also add the remainder of the previous digits (if any)**

__STEP 3__

**In last step, we will multiply the left hand side digits and add the remainder from previous multiplication (if any)**

__MULTIPLICATION BY 3 DIGIT NUMBERS__

Again we know how to do multiplication by 3 digit numbers, but here we will discuss the faster method to do such multiplication.

Vedic method to solve this is:

__Example__ 349 × 239 = ?

There are 5 steps according to Vedic method to solve such example

__STEP 1__

**In first step, we will multiply the right hand digits i.e. 2 x 9 = 18.**

**8 will come in the answer and 1 will carry forward.**

__STEP 2__

**In second step, we will cross multiply the right hand digits i.e. 4×9 + 3×2 =42 and we will add 1( brought forward from previous step). So 43. Now 3 will come in the answer and 4 will be the total will carry forward to next**

__STEP 3__

**In third step, we will cross multiply the extreme digits and multiply the middle digits and add them i.e. 2×2 + 3×9 + 4×3 = 43 and now will add 4 (brought forward from previous step). So 47 will be the total and 7 will come in the answer and 4 will carry forward to next step**.

__STEP 4__

**In fourth step, we will cross multiply the left hand side digits i.e. 3×3 + 4×2 = 17 and add 4 (brought forward from previous step).So, 21 will be the total and 1 come in the answer and 2 will carry forward to next step**.

__STEP 5__

**In fifth (last step) we will multiply the left hand side digits i.e. 3×2 = 6 and add 2 (brought forward from previous step). S0 total will 8.**

__MULTIPLICATION BY 4 DIGIT NUMBERS__

Now we will discuss how to multiplication by 4 digit numbers according to the Vedic method.

Vedic method:

__Example__ 1296 × 2468 = ?

__STEP 1__

**In first step, we will multiply the extreme right hand side digit i.e. 6 x 8 = 48. We will take 8 to the answer and 4 will carry forward to the next step.**

__STEP 2__

**In second step, we will cross multiply the extreme right hand side digits i.e. 9×8 + 6×6 = 108 and add 4 (brought forward from previous step). So total will be 112. Now we will take 2 to the answer and carry forward 11 to the next step.**

__STEP 3__

**In third step, we will take 3 digits from the right hand side and then cross multiply the extreme digits i.e. 2×8 + 6×4 = 40 and multiply the middle digits 9×6 =54 and add them i.e. 40+54 =94 and 11 (brought forward from previous step). So total will be 105. We will take 5 to the answer and carry forward 10 to the next step.**

__STEP 4__

**In this step, we will cross multiply the extreme digits and also cross multiply the middle digits i.e. 1×8 + 6×2 + 2×6 + 9×4 = 68 and we will also add 10 (brought forward from previous step). So total will be 78. We will take 8 to the answer and carry forward 7 to the next step.**

__STEP 5__

**In fifth step,we will consider three digits from left side. First, we will do cross multiplication with the extreme digits and multiply the middle digits i.e. 1×6 + 9×2 + 2×4 = 32 and add 7 (brought forward from previous step). So total will be 39. We will take 9 to the answer and carry forward 3 to the next step.**

__STEP 6__

**In this step, we will take two digits from left side and cross multiply them i.e. 1×4 + 2×2 = 8 and add 3 (brought forward from previous step). So total is 11. We will take 1 to the answer and carry forward 1 to the next step.**

__STEP 7__

**In last step, we will multiply the left hand side digits i.e. 1×2 =2 and add 1 (brought forward from previous step). So total will be 3. And we will take 3 to the answer.**

*These methods seem to be lengthy when someone try them for first time, but with practice and implication of these methods to your daily practice routine, it becomes very easy as calculations in these methods become small and thus save time.**Try to learn the methods by remembering the pictures shared in the above articles.*
